About the role
Root Therapy and Wellness is hiring a physical therapist in Bozeman, Montana — part-time or full-time, your call. You’d treat orthopedic injuries, post-surgical recoveries, and chronic pain in full one-on-one sessions, with real independence over your plans of care.
This is a small multidisciplinary clinic, not a mill. You’d work beside occupational therapists, a PTA, and a speech-language pathologist — including colleagues with deep specialty training in visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, and Somatic Experiencing — in a practice built around getting to the root cause instead of chasing symptoms visit to visit.
How We Work — and Why Therapists Stay
You are the expert here, and the advocate for your patient’s care. That isn’t a slogan — it’s the operating model. You decide what’s best for the people you treat, every session is one-on-one, and nobody is ever double-booked. Your clinical judgment is why we’d hire you, so we don’t override it with a schedule.
A few practical things we’ve built because they matter to real life:
- Paid documentation time, included as needed depending on your schedule load — charting isn’t homework you do for free.
- Real schedule flexibility. Life has family demands, trips worth taking, and days that need to bend. We adjust schedules to make time off actually work — that goes for part-time and full-time alike.
- The same benefits at part-time as full-time — and health insurance is fully paid once you’re over 25 hours a week. The full list is on our careers page.
How Hiring Works Here
It starts with a phone call — no committee, no personality quiz. If we both like what we hear, you’ll come in and interview in person with someone you’d actually be working beside, see the space, and get honest answers about the caseload. We’ll respond to your application within the week.
An Honest Note About Bozeman
Local candidates, this is your hometown advantage — we’d love to hear from you. If you’d be relocating: Bozeman is a genuinely wonderful place to live and work, and it is genuinely expensive. We can’t offer relocation assistance, so please come with clear eyes about the cost of living. Plenty of people make it work and love it here; we just won’t pretend the math is easy.
What you'd do
Perform thorough evaluations
Assess each patient in depth — what they need, what’s underneath it, and what the rest of their care team has already tried.
Design customized treatment plans
Build a plan aimed at the root cause and at the specific goals the patient walked in with.
Administer hands-on therapy
Deliver direct, hands-on treatment so each session serves both the immediate problem and the longer recovery.
Collaborate for comprehensive care
Work alongside our occupational therapists, our PTA, and our SLP, and with outside providers, so care is integrated rather than parallel.
Track and adapt care plans
Monitor progress and change the plan when the plan needs changing.
Contribute to how we practice
Give feedback to peers and to management on our practices, processes, and facilities. We act on it.
