Patient Resources

Making the decision to take control of your pain and health is an important step and we want to ensure that you’re fully prepared before you get started.

What to expect from your first visit.

Step 1

First, we’ll get you on the schedule as soon as possible, working with you to find a time that works well for you.

Step 2

Second, you’ll be emailed an online intake form to complete prior to your first appointment so that your therapist has time to review your concerns.

Step 3

Next, we’ll meet with you at your appointment to assess your concerns and goals, to discuss your treatment options, and to develop a treatment plan with you.

Step 4

Finally, we’ll work with you to schedule your plan of care and collaborate with you and your other healthcare providers to ensure that you receive the best care possible.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need a doctor’s note to come to Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapy?

No! In Montana, you can come straight to PT/OT/SLP without going to your doctor first! We will communicate with your physician as needed to ensure you get the best care possible. The only people who DO need a doctor’s note are Medicare/Medicaid, and we find that often if you call your doctor and tell them you would like to receive therapy, they will send an order over to our clinic without you needing to have an appointment with them.

How long will I be in therapy?
  • It all depends on what you are coming in for. If you have a longstanding injury, you will likely need therapy services for a long period of time to address and compensatory patterns your body/system has developed.
  • If this is a new injury/surgery, the recovery will likely be much quicker (months vs years).
  • However - this all depends on your ability to participate in your sessions and to complete your homework outside of therapy!
Do you treat injuries from car accidents or worker’s compensation?

Yes, we do. As some of our therapists have been injured in MVA’s (motor vehicle accidents) themselves, we understand the ups and downs of this recovery process, as well as the care team that is needed to get through each stage of healing. We pride ourselves on addressing all facets of the system that need to recover, not just the physical body.

For worker’s compensation, our philosophy is to treat what needs to be treated to get the worker back on the job, healthier and stronger than they were prior to injury.

Do you accept all insurances?

We accept most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid. We also have a cash pay discount option for those that have a higher deductible who may not want to use their insurance benefits.

Why should I choose Root Therapy and Wellness?

Do you want to be seen as a person vs a number in a therapy clinic? Do you want to have more than just the area of injury addressed to ensure full-body recovery? Would you like to have your therapist understand your goals and create a treatment plan that is individualized for you? Would you like to work with a therapy group that prides themselves on collaborating with an individual’s healthcare team to facilitate better and faster recovery? We address all of those questions and more. We are a collaborative, holistic therapy group and believe that treatment involves the whole system, not just the area of injury.
