Yoga Classes in Bozeman: Move, Breathe, and Reset
Yoga at Root Therapy and Wellness in Bozeman is a small-group class for every body — whether you’re rolling out a mat for the very first time or coming back to a practice you’ve missed. There’s no diagnosis, no referral, and nothing to keep up with. Just an unhurried hour to move, breathe, and let the day settle.
You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or experienced to belong here. Our instructors offer options for every pose, so the class meets you where you are today — and grows with you as you keep coming back.
What a Class Feels Like
Yoga pairs gentle, flowing movement with steady breathing. That simple combination is what makes it feel so good: it builds strength and mobility while quieting a busy mind. A typical class moves through a mix of standing poses, floor work, and a few minutes of stillness at the end — all at a pace you can follow.
- Breath and movement together — the heart of what makes yoga feel calming.
- Strength and mobility — poses that help you move more freely in everyday life.
- Balance and body awareness — grounded work that helps you feel steady.
- Rest and reset — time to slow down, so you leave calmer than you arrived.
The Yoga Classes at Root
These are the yoga classes currently running each week, all taught by Tracy — a physical therapist at Root who ran her own yoga studio for fifteen years before bringing her classes here. Days and times live on the class schedule, which always shows the current week.
- Gentle Slow Flow Yoga — a slow-paced flow with time for poses to evolve: conscious breathing, careful transitions and alignment, and a quiet Yin-style finish. Most people leave feeling open and settled.
- Men Who Want To Bend — a yoga-and-Pilates blend built for men who want flexibility, mobility, and strength without the studio intimidation factor. The most popular class in the studio Tracy ran for fifteen years.
- Align & Unwind — alignment, core awareness, and breath, woven into a thoughtful practice that builds strength and balance you can feel off the mat.
- Breath & Be — breath practices, gentle movement, and guided meditation. New to meditation or years in, you’ll find simple tools that travel with you; comfortable chairs are available for anyone who prefers not to sit on the floor.
- Total Body Reset: Restorative Yoga — fully supported postures and slow breathwork; the most restful hour on the schedule, designed to let the whole body genuinely rest.
- Yoga for Hypermobility (instructor approval) — an ongoing class for hypermobile bodies: intentional movement that builds supportive strength inside a safe range, with breathing practices that help the nervous system settle.
- EDS-Beginning Yoga Series (instructor approval) — the four-week introduction to the class above, built for people with EDS or hypermobility who are starting from the beginning.
- Modified Yoga with the Ball (instructor approval) — balance, strength, and confidence with the support of a physio ball, mostly from seated or supported positions. Made for anyone who finds getting up and down from the mat the hardest part.
- UNWIND: Yoga + Myofascial Series — a two-hour monthly session (first Saturdays) combining yoga, breathwork, and myofascial ball work, one region of the body at a time across a six-part arc.
Classes marked instructor approval ask you to connect with Tracy before your first session so the class fits you well — the schedule page explains how.

Yoga as a Wellness Class, Not a Treatment
Yoga at Root is a wellness offering — a class for feeling good and building a movement habit, not a medical treatment for a specific condition. It sits alongside our clinical care, in the same calm space, but it’s its own thing.
If you’re dealing with pain, an injury, or a condition that needs hands-on care, that’s what our physical therapy and occupational therapy services are for — just ask, and we’ll help you find the right starting point.
